An Autumn 2017 update...

summer has been non stop writing and collaborating and I wanted to share with you what I can about what's been made from a big 20 minute piece for big forces in Cork to a live show with Mira Calix playing my Electro Magnetic Harp at Stroud Fringe...

Sounds from a Safe Harbour  // 15th September Out Into // collaboration with Enda Walsh for soprano Kate Manley, Crash Ensemble and all female choir It was a total flipping honour when Mary Hickson and Bryce Dessner commissioned me to write for Kate Manley, Crash Ensemble and Cork's School of Music Cappella Lyrica Choir. Enda Walsh and I wrote a 20 minute piece about a woman who is exiled. The audience standingly ovated (is that a verb?) we are currently hatching plans for more performances... here I am with Andre de Ridder discussing the score in the streets of Cork before rehearsal!

Stroud Fringe Choir I'm so happy Stroud Fringe Choir is out there now. We had our first gig with queues out the door songs all original and by the members including songs by Emily Barker and Mesdaorm's Blythe Pepino. Very nice to give SATB Mantra it's Stroud premier too. We'll be appearing every Stroud Fringe with a brand new program of freshly hatched songs

Harkwood College/Artist in Residence 18th - 22nd September I was fortunate to have a week at Hawkwood college to dream and think about the future music I'd like to make - it was a gift to have the space to do that and home made biscuit break at 11 'o clock was also amazing!
